The arena would be decorated to look like an extremely high tech and classy Halloween party. There would be pumpkins dangling from the ceiling and much more besides. Lillian Garcia would welcome everyone to uWe Halloween hell 2009 and then Michael Cole and Tazz would run through the highlights of the night.
Match 1: Rave vs. Rabbi Tobin Brown
The first match of the night would see Rave taking on Rabbi Brown. It would start out with Brown being able to give himself a bit of momentum with a side headlock following the collar and elbow tie up. Rave however, would elbow out after a few seconds. From here on in it was all Rave. He was unrelenting although Brown did manage to counter a full throttle attempt with a schoolboy roll up for 2. Eventually though, Rave’s dominance would win through and he would make Brown tap out.
Winner via submission: Rave at 4:09
Match 2: Dante Nathaniel vs. Brandon Sorrow
This match would never even make it to the ring as when Brandon made his appearance, he was accompanied by Drew and Rikter Cane. They would then mercilessly beat on the former world champion for a good 3 or 4 minutes until a surprise occurred. Asylum would run down to ringside and take out both Brandon and Drew with a double clothesline. He and Rikter would then brawl into the ring as a groggy Dante was helped backstage.
Winner: No contest
Match 3: Rikter Cane vs. Asylum
This match between 2 of the most sick, mentally unstable and violent men in the uWe was sure to be nothing short of carnage. Neither man likes the other and that would be evident in the early exchanges.
Rikter would try and use his experience to gain a major advantage but would be countered by Asylum with a clothesline that almost decapitated his opponent. Cane however would show the resilience that he’s shown on many, many occasions and get up with a look on his face which clearly said that if Asylum wanted to play that game, they could play that game.
The match then broke out into a brawl for several minutes with neither man getting the upper hand. Eventually though, the former world champion Rikter would manage a pele kick which would knock the bigger man down. He would attempt a cover but Asylum would kick out at 2. This however was the signal for the end as Rikter would finish the match soon after with a devastating Vitamin R for the pinfall.
Winner via pinfall: Rikter Cane at 12:23
Match 4: Diva title match
This match would start out with Chrystie and Chelsea in the ring. At this stage, Chrystie would be dominant as usual. She would make short work of Chelsea, putting her down for the 10 count with the last breath.
Next in would be Lily Jackson, herself a former divaweight champion. This would prove to be yet another in the tight series of encounters between these 2 dominant divas. Lily would come in all guns blazing and almost have it won with a chick kick but Chrystie would get up at 9. She would then pile on the pressure to a point where the Bad attitude member couldn’t handle the relentless attacks. Lily would also be put out with the last breath but Chrystie would prove to be extremely tired after this.
Finally, a new music hit the PA and out would come former uWe diva Trinity. The religious zealot would be on fire, knocking Chrystie down with a series of clotheslines. She would look to follow up but Chrystie would trip her, allowing Chrystie to regain some energy.
Chrystie would pick up Trinity and hit her with a devastating hair pull backbreaker and follow that up with more vicious attacks. Eventually the last breath would connect for a third time tonight and see yet another diva fail to answer the 10 count.
Winner: Chrystie at 35:15 to retain and become the final ever diva champin.
Maureen would appear on the titantron as Chrystie celebrated her hard earned win. She would say that the divaweight division was henceforth disbanded. She would also drop another bombshell by announcing that Chrystie had been appointed Rapture general manager. Chrystie would smile even more broadly as she would make her way backstage.
Match 5: Tag title ladder match. The ultimate Horsemen (War and pestilence aka Drew and Ryan starr) vs. the death trance slayers
This match looked on paper to be an absolute classic. Both teams knew each other well as it was the DTS who Drew and Starr defeated to become tag champions almost 3 months ago.
The match itself however would prove to be anything but close. Early on it looked like Grave and Pyro could be serious contenders to regain the tag titles. They worked seamlessly as a team as one might imagine.
They would try and isolate Ryan Starr, but he would have none of it, taking them down with a double clothesline. Starr would then tag in Drew who would knock Grave out of the ring and go to work on Pyro. His assault on the Scott would be vicious and cold. He would though eventually tag in starr who would lock in the Epiphony as Drew would hit a cross body on Grave on the outside to prevent him breaking up the submission.
Winners via submission and still tag champions: Drew and Ryan at 5:14
Match 6: Bob Shtickly vs. David stone
Bob Schtickly, a former Hardcore Champion, despite being a relative newcomer to the company, looked to get his second title possibility against a man who has won almost everything in the uWe and the leader of Bad Attitude, David Stone.
The war of words backstage spilled into the ring as neither man could wait for the opening bell, Stone using his experience to back Bob into a corner and unleash a flurry of left hands. The former Hardcore Champion would fight back, not afraid of using his favourite underhanded tactics to take the advantage, a position he would stay in for a few minutes. Slowly wearing down Stone, Bob would show some impressive submission holds and work over the left knee.
Stone would begin to struggle with this setback but would refuse to quit. After several agonising submission holds, Stone would wriggle to the ropes and force the break. From here, Schtickly would be on the back foot. Going back to the brawling, the southpaw would again open up with left hands, sending the former Hardcore Champion to the outside. Stone and the referee would both follow, the latter trying to restore some form of order as the pair brawled around the ringside area. The referee would allow the brawl to continue but started to administer a ten count.
Stone would be the first man back into the ring, but Bob wouldn’t fall into the trap of rolling under the bottom rope. Instead, Schtickly would go through the ropes and stand toe to toe with Stone. This began a series of one-upmanship between the two. Clotheslines were exchanged, elbows and knees thrown, suplexes countered and counter-countered. Schtickly would roll through from a German Suplex and started to charge at Stone. Unfortunately, Schtickly’s ankle appeared to give way and Bob would tumble towards Stone. Stone looked on but couldn’t avoid being caught in a very sensitive area by the head of Bob. The Bad Attitude leader started to keel over and was helped on his way by Bob who took the advantage with a small package. A handful of tights and a three count later, and Bob had stolen the win and a shot at the International Champion.
Winner by pinfall: Bob Schtickly at 13:10
Match 7: Hardcore and International title spoils of war Asher Godfre vs. Joker
This match would promise to be nothing more than epic. Both Joker and Asher came into this match with a title but only 1 would be leaving still a champion. This seemed to be on the minds of both men as they entered the ring and the cage was locked behind them.
However, the first fall would prove to be just as tense as all predictions said it would. Asher would try something only to have Joker counter and vice versa. Asher would however, gain a bit of momentum when he would manage to floor Joker with a sweet looking drop kick to the stomach which had the brit winded. He would follow this up with a latterall press and a 2 count before the resilient BA member would kick out. A test of strength would follow and there could be only one winner there. Joker pulled Godfre into a belly to belly Jokerplex and would follow that up with a massive elbow to the chest. He would pick Asher up and 1 joker driver later the first fall had gone to the International champion.
The second fall would start with Asher trying to clear the cobwebs from the last fall and Joker trying to take advantage. As Asher got to his feet, Joker would run at him with the original in mind. Asher would dodge it and then go on the attack. It seemed though, that no matter what the former model tried, he could not make Joker blead. Eventually he looked under the ring and grabbed a steel chair. Throwing the chair back into the ring he would slide back in himself. Joker however would have recovered from being momentarily stunned and would take this opportunity to connect with the original! He would then mount his opponent and then rain down blow after blow on Godfre’s forehead, trying to make him blead. Asher would manage somehow to throw Joker off him and get to his feet. With Joker having taken a lot of punishment he was slightly slower to his feet. Asher would take advantage of this and grabbing the chair he brought in earlier would swing for the fences, connecting steel with the skull of Joker. As he would pull back for a second swing, Joker would try and hide the blood now spilling from a gash on his forehead. The ref however would see it and the second fall would go to the hardcore champion.
So, it was down to this. The third and final fall would decide what had been yet another classic match involving these 2 young superstars. It was early on that yet more weapons would come into play. Both men would slide out and look under the ring once more with Joker pulling out a stop sign and Asher a kendo stick. What followed can only be described as a game of cat and mouse with each man chasing the other round the ring. The atmosphere was electric and would be punctuated occasionally with the sound of wood or steel connecting with flesh. By now, Joker wasn’t the only one wearing the proverbial crimson mask. Asher was bleading just as profusely from a cut above his left eye. Somehow though, both men managed to keep fighting. There were several times when Asher thought he’d had the match won and both titles only for Joker to stand at 8 or 9. The end came though when Joker managed to duck a clothesline attempt by Asher. Bouncing off the far ropes, Asher would run right into a reality check for all the ages. 10 seconds later and Joker was announced the winner and dual champion.
Winner via last man standing to retain the International title and become the new hardcore champion: Joker at 59:25
Main event world title match: Ryan starr vs. Steve Norton with special guest referee Dirty Drew Reynolds.
This is it, the main event of the evening. The horsemen’s War aka Ryan Starr would be defending the uWe world championship against Steve Norton who would be cashing in his rematch clause. The snag? War’s tag team partner was the referee.
The match started out very evenly indeed with drew seeming to call the match down the middle. Both Norton and Starr know each other very well and this was evident in the early exchanges. Norton would try for a roundhouse kick to the chest only to have Starr duck and find himself crotched on the top rope at one point. Starr would sneak up behind and blatently hit Norton with a low blow thanks to the open target. Drew would claim he hadn’t seen the illegal shot and from here on in Norton stood no chance. He would eventually mount a comeback which culminated in the counting lights suplex. Drew would make a very slow count and then place Starr’s foot on the ropes forcing Norton into a break.
From this point on though, it would be all Starr with a little help from Drew. Eventually Norton would lose patience and lash out at Drew. Drew would warn him that if he hit an official he would be disqualified whilst all the time smirking in that oh so annoying way he has when he’s got a plan. During the argument, Starr would sneak up behind Norton once more and spin him around into a vicious fall of man. Starr would cover and 3 seconds later would have retained his title.
Winner via pinfall to retain the world title: Ryan Starr at 21:15
As Norton left the ring with starr and Drew celebrating a job well done, a man in black and wearing a ski mask would attack him from behind with a steel chair. He would soon be joined by a seconde figure dressed identically and holding a baseball bat. The double attack wouldn't last long however as to a chorus of screams, David stone would run out from backstage and take the attackers down with a double clothesline. A Stone cutter for both and he would help Norton to his feet and help him backstage as Halloween hell went off the air. Results written by James and Ben.
